Incident in Lake County is the 3rd installment of Dean Alioto's successful sci-fi horror films The McPherson Tape and
the Paramount TV movie Alien Abduction: Incident in Lake County.
Featured in the Paramount + original documentary Unknown Dimensions: The Story of Paranormal Activity and the Shudder Original documentary The Found Footage Phenomenon, Dean's movies have a huge cult following that taps into both the horror/sci-fi fans and UFO/Paranormal followers.
A REAL-LIFE ORIGIN STORY
According to hundreds of UFO websites around the world, there is actual footage of a family being abducted by extraterrestrials in Lake County, USA. This footage was first introduced into the UFO community on December 1993 when screened at the International UFO Congress Convention in Las Vegas.
The footage, named The McPherson Tape aka UFO Abduction, was touted by UFO expert and author Tom Dongo as the final evidence that we are not alone in the universe. In 1995, student filmmaker Dean Alioto claimed he created the video on the Fox Network show, Encounters (see link below).
Despite Dean's claim, the UFO community believed the videotape was based on real footage and that Dean worked for the government in a dissinformation campaign to discredit the "original" footage.
Dean next remade the video as a TV movie for Paramount in 1998 called Alien Abduction: Incident in Lake County. The domestic and international TV show was the most watched primetime show ever for the network.
Following its airing, the UFO conspiracy theory was strengthened and spread to millions of new believers. An online poll showed half of the viewers thought the remake was real -- even though the actors playing the "aliens" were credited.
After years of online conspiracies (see links below), those who believe will have their wildest suspicions confirmed. Tapping into his worldwide following, Alioto will create a new scripted alien abduction movie presented to audiences as being based on the legendary never-before seen "original" alien abduction tape.
